you found me.
I got an email recently that led with:
“Fall is in the air… Which usually means it’s time to check back in to reality. And reality looks a little different right now (thanks, 2020).”
Fall is definitely my season. Chilly mornings, scarves, football, a sultry bourbon in front of the firepit. Yep, fall is for me.
So when I read that statement – “time to check back in to reality” – it got me thinking…
I took a giant leap at the beginning of the year. I went totally independent, committing to build a business specifically to focus on design and brand work with greater impact and purpose, work that is rooted in sustainability and equity.
Then it all happened – COVID, protests, brutality, lies, isolation. Reality, upended.
Friends and colleagues ask how things are going, and I usually say, “I’m keepin’ on, keepin’ on.” In so many ways, that’s really all we’ve been able to do.
But that phrase, “back to reality,” so perfectly aligned with the autumnal equinox, and a moon growing full… That’s the kind of auspiciousness I just can’t ignore. That’s the kind of energy that shoves you forward.
And for me, right now, in this phase of life and of business, it’s the kind of energy that affirms the giant leap I took so many months ago.
So here I am! Doubling down on my new life, and starting this crazy blog as a space to continue exploring my leap: the business I’m building, the goals and values behind it, ideas and bits of inspiration, thoughts and experiences and discoveries.
Here I am. You found me.
